T5W – Spring Reads

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Samantha on Goodreads. This week’s topic is Spring Reads. For me that means books I am going to read this spring. I am a very moody reader, so creating any sort of TBR list is a very challenging thing for me to do, since I rarely stick to it. But I noticed that for me spring is a time for rereading books I liked and for trying out new books written by my favourite authors. So I created this list of 5 books I want to read and let’s all hope that I will manage to finish all of them this season!

Clockwork Princess  – Cassandra Clare

I was doing a Shadowhunter Chronicles readalong hosted by emmmabooks last year. And I was doing GREAT. Until I got to this book. Because I remember well what it did to me last time I read it, so I just kept putting it off. And now it’s the end of March and I still haven’t read it. So I am going to finally do it this spring. I am ready for the pain now. Or at least I hope I am.

Lifel1k3 – Jay Kristoff

I bought this book as soon as it came out. I mean it’s Jay Kristoff. Of course I bought it. But it came out last year. So I guess I should finally read it. But I keep putting it off for the same reason I didn’t want to reread Clockwork Princess. I know Kristoff. And that man is RUTHLESS. So yeah. I am going to read this book. But I am sure I am going to cry like a baby by the end of it.

The Painted Man – Peter V. Brett

3322866
This is one of my favourite fantasy series of all time. It’s at the top of the list right next to The Witcher. But I haven’t read it in forever. I just bought the last book in this series, so in preparation for it I am going to reread all of the previous ones, starting with The Painted Man. Oh, how I missed this world.

And I Darken – Kiersten White

27190613

The funny thing with And I Darken is – I read it. I read it and I loved it. And almost immediately after finishing it I forgot basically everything about this book. So I can’t really start Now I Rise, can I? I need to reread And I Darken first. I am hoping I am going to enjoy it as much as I did the first time. And I hope I am going to remember it for a little bit longer.

You Die When You Die – Angus Watson

28169061
I’ve read Watson’s previous trilogy – The Iron Age. It was a perfect grimdark novel – dark, bloody, gritty and… hilarious. I had tons of fun reading it. And that’s what I hope for this time as well. I deserve some fun after all this crying, right?

So that’s it! What are you planning on reading this spring? Let me know!

      1. She has quite a backlog of books I haven’t gotten to all of them. The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frakenstein is incredible. I have an arc of Slayer that came through during my hiatus and haven’t gotten back to it. But if you like the Buffyverse I can’t imagine you not loving it. The entire And I Darken Trilogy is incredible.

  1. That’s ok. I never liked Buffy till I watched Angel and then I had to go back and watch Buffy because Angel is one of my favorite shows ever. Joss Whedon said he thought it was the better written shows of the two. No one ever wants to hear that, though lol.
